Cambridge is offering free resources until July 12th!

The current protest and unrest in the United States has highlighted the corrosive effects of racism, discrimination and injustice. These things have no place in societies and by standing together we can be part of the solution. One of the most important things that we can do as a publisher is not just voice outrage, but provide research and data to inform progress. That’s why we are providing access to this collection featuring complimentary journal articles, book chapters and for a limited time, complete books.

I also thought it would be good for us to get acquainted with some more helpful resources. I don't profess to be an expert but I know that we need to start somewhere. I desire to learn more.

The Cross and the Lynching Tree: James H. Cone;, H. Cone, James ...

I want to read more of Dr. Cones's material. He is a student of Barth for his dissertation. He critics Niebhur for not going further in the issue regarding race. Niebur is a Christian realist who is often in tensions with Barth. His realism is too cerebral and is missing the heart that Luther says is required of Christians to carry the burden of his neighbour in compassion.

There are some more ancient readings that should inform us especially in light of BLM's political ideology or rather a position on political theology. I recommend Bonhoeffer, Augustine's City of God. But, for now let's see if we can find more readings from authors who have lived through this the BL movement.
